All about Eve
Eve West Bessier holds a B.A. in English from San Francisco State University and a Master of Education with a specialization in Social Organizational Studies from The University of California, Davis, where she worked as a researcher until recently.
Her background in personal and community development, spiritual guidance counseling and the arts, makes Eve uniquely qualified to be a life coach and creative consultant. Her approach is highly creative, compassionate and tailored to the unique needs of each client. She is also a visual artist, performing jazz vocalist and vocal arts coach to people of all ages who wish to discover and develop their musical potential.
Eve is a published poet and author, an Area Coordinator for California Poets in the Schools and a promoter of community arts programs. In 2000, Eve received the Kathryn Hohlwein Award and First Place for Poetry in the California Focus on Writers Contest.
Eve's publications include: The North American Review, Kalliope, Lyric, Manzanita, Seeker, The Sacramento Anthology: One Hundred Poems, and Heart Flip. She has two chapbooks, Roots Music and Splash published by dPress. Her poem “Zoo You, Boogaloo” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2003.
Born in the Netherlands, Eve has called Davis her home for over 25 years. She resides there with her cuddly, but very lazy, Maine coon cat, Lenny.
In her "spare" time, Eve performs jazz poetry, jazz music and is in the process of recording her first full jazz album.
